What is a medicinal plant?

Medicinal plants typically refer to medicinal, aromatic, and perfumed plants. These are plant species, both wild and cultivated, that can be used for various purposes: medicinal, phytotherapeutic, herbal, liqueur-making, flavoring, hygienic, perfumery, and cosmetic applications.

Do I have to plant new plants every year?

No. Lavanda Angustifolia plants are perennial, so even though their average lifespan can vary, they do not need to be replanted until they have exhausted their productive capacity.

Do I need an irrigation system?

No. They should be watered at the time of planting and occasionally in case of prolonged drought, but always with very little water.

Can I sell fresh lavender flowers?

No, fresh lavender cannot be sold. The flower should not be removed from the plant for too long, or it will get damaged. However, dried lavender, hydrolate, and the most profitable product, essential oil, can be sold.
